These New Rappers Got Me Missin Pac!

2Pac is my favorite rapper period. I often wonder to myself what the game would've been like had he not been murdered..Would we have had the Puffy/Shiny Suit days? The Ja-Rule love song days? The Reign of Rocafella? The 50 Cent/ G-Unit days? Would there have been room for Wayne, Kanye, Jay-Z, Lupe, Nas, or Common(Or Insert your top 5 rappers)? Would 'Pac have grown with hip-hop? Would he have graduated to becoming an accomplished actor?(In my opinion, he was on his way! Have you seen Juice? GridLock'd! Rent Em!) I personally feel that if 'Pac wouldn't have died, there wouldn't have been so many niggas tryin to be him!(I said it!) Niggas wouldn't have attempted to fill the void left by his death. There wouldn't be so many niggas rappin cuz 2Pac would have been their voice. This is a guy that dropped an album in February and was 6 times platinum 2 weeks after his death in September. He changed the game. He still inspires many and this is 12 years after his death. So if you were born between 93-97, you missed out on some of the best days in hip-hop, Soulja Boy/Bow Wow/or Lil Boosie might just be your favorite rappers. Tupac Amaru Shakur will live on, through his music, movies and poetry. 2Pac wasn't some dumb thug, he read, he wrote, he spoke out on injustice. He was the Black Panther of my generation. He was an intelligent motivator of the youth! He has become an icon of a time, in a league with Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, Jim Morrison, Elvis Presley, etc.

Tight Pants Are For Girls!!

From the beginning of the 'skinny jean revolution' I've constantly said," Wow, that's kinda homo, but I ain't judging." I never could get wit the skinny jeans, just not my style, but I definitely saw alot of guys embracing the trend, as if they couldn't wait for a new fad to pop up so they could 'fit in' or whatever their reasons are. "Did you see Wayne wit them red skinny jeans? Yeah man, I went and bought some just like it!" Can you please get off of Lil Wayne's dick. He is 5ft tall, they're not really skinny jeans to him. Honestly he's a step and a half away from being a homo himself! (Yeah I said it!) From lip piercings, to kissing Baby(who has a picture of Weezy's face tatted on his chest!), to calling a nigga who's not your father, daddy, to having multiple niggas names tatted on him, he's almost there! I still enjoy his music though. However, I can appreciate a woman in skinny jeans, cuz they're the ones that are supposed to be rockin' em. I like to see the shape of a woman's legs and figure, while she's rockin' skinny jeans. So with that being said, why would a guy wear skinny jeans? Are you tryin' to accent your calf muscles, nigga!? That's gay!! Now that's out in the open, the song below clearly expresses my sentiment with regard to guys wearing skinny jeans. I wanna say this is the first song I've heard from Termanology, not gonna be the last. He's got wordplay and that's something that's lackin' in the game now. So even if you don't download the song, at least listen to it. A very real track! & tight pants are for girls!! Beleee Dat! Oh and he shouts my boy Wale out in this track!

CommonSense Sharing With The Youth!

Seriously, big ups to CommonSense, for taking time out of his schedule to go and speak to the kids. This goes back to that video "If Mos Def was the President" If you have more, do more! It probably took all of an hour to talk to these kids and sign some autographs. We need more artists like Common taking positive steps like this to encourage kids, to let them know that entertainment isn't the only means of success, and to let them know that they can achieve any goal they set in their minds if they stay in school. Thank you, Common, this was very good for Hip-Hop!

So I Watched 'Bobby' This Morning..

I watched 'Bobby', a movie about Robert F. Kennedy's run for president in 1968. While watching this I realized how little I actually knew about RFK. I mean everybody knows who his brother is(JFK), but how many of us know anything about Robert, besides the fact that he was Attorney General, and some folks don't even know that. So googled him, just cuz I like to stay knowledgeable about a variety of topics. Well RFK did alot of positive things on our behalf(black folks)as far as civil rights goes, although he may have Ok'd some dumb shit (like wiretapping MLK Jr for suspected communism, yeah real dumb) I read about a trip he made to South Africa to speak out against Apartheid(look it up) He was quoted in a magazine and he said something that I felt was quite profound and progressive for a white American man of affluence to think/say aloud..

"At the University of Natal in Durban, I was told the church to which most of the white population belongs teaches apartheid as a moral necessity. A questioner declared that few churches allow black Africans to pray with the white because the Bible says that is the way it should be, because God created Negroes to serve. 'But suppose God is black', I replied. 'What if we go to Heaven and we, all our lives, have treated the Negro as an inferior, and God is there, and we look up and He is not white? What then is our response?' There was no answer. Only silence."

I don't know how you feel about that statement but its pretty damn deep to me..Sure you or I have probably thought that, but a white guy in 1966 said this publically. Quite profound in my opinion. My point is Bobby Kennedy doesn't get enough credit for the things he has done to bring about equal rights for all citizens of this country. He is often dwarfed by the legend and the shadow of his older brother JFK, but RFK was a giant of a different kind.
